Below are some frequently asked questions about
IntraScript and our medical transcription ASP solution.

Is IntraScript also a transcription company?
No! IntraScript is solely a consulting and ASP service business. Unlike most transcription ASPs we believe being both a service provider and a competitor at the same time presents a conflict of interest.  

Do I have to purchase additional software or hardware to run your platform in my office?
No. All you need is a computer with access to the web.  Please see our
technology page for minimum computer requirements.

Do I have to sign a long term contract?
No.  If you're not happy, we're not happy either.

Can we resell the platform?
Yes, we do provide reseller status to our customers as often selling into modern environments the preferred solutions are hybrid implementations. From full outsourcing to a mix of in-house and external resources along with mixed VR and EMR systems. The additional benefits are non transcription revenue for our customers and one stop shopping for the facility.

Will we need to purchase proprietary digital recorders or other equipment to work with your system?
No. Any digital recording device will work. PDA or computer equipped with digital voice recorders will also work.  MT's will want to have a generic foot pedal.

How big does a company need to be to use your software?
We accommodate large and small companies alike, whether you have 10 medical transcriptionists or 1,000.

What about support?
We excel in supporting our clients.  We have 24/7 critical support and standard support is available during normal business hours.  Our typical support response time is less than 15 minutes.

Whose web page will my clients be logging onto?
Yours!  You get a personalized and branded login page and domain as part of the service.

Can our physicians use a telephone to dictate?
Yes. Our platform works with digital or analog phones, in addition to digital voice recorders and PDAs. We can provide you a private toll free number and redundant backup dictation servers as well.

Can you prioritize work types for the MT queue?
We have 99 levels of priorities that can be assigned to different work types, and STAT assignments are available.

Do you charge for electronic signatures or templates?
No.

Do you charge for adding MT, Editors, Physicians or any users?
No.

How are finished files delivered to the physician or clinic administrator?
Physicians and assistants can login to view, edit and electronically sign transcriptions.  Hard copies or digital files can be automatically printed and stored at any remote location with an Internet connection.

Can I send reports to referring physicians?
Yes.  We have automatic forwarding built into the system. Referring physicians can receive documents automatically the same way your clients do. Referring physicians can even reference and data mine previous referral patient records via your own private and secure website.

How difficult is setting up a physician's office or clinic to use your software?
Its fairly simple but, like any robust software, there are some set ups required on local computers. The software is available for download from your login page and usually takes about ten minutes per user to set up.  It can be done over the phone in most instances. Document delivery rules are created and managed remotely.

Does your system provide reports and data mining?
Yes. A wide array of reports are available and new ones are being created by request all the time. All reports are fully indexed for extensive and flexible searching.

What accounting functions do you provide?
Invoicing and real time revenue and cost reporting are readily available as part of the platform.

We charge different rates for different physicians and MTs.  Can your system handle that?
Yes. Our platform allows you to configure pricing by physician, affiliate and MT.  We also have bonus pricing for incentive programs for MT's as well as shift rates and priority pricing options.

Do I have to use line pricing, or are other pricing methods available?
We offer multiple pricing schemes by character and gross lines, by minute or document.

I have a lot of radiologists.  Can we attach images or files to transcriptions?
Yes.  Our application is one of very few which has that capability.

Do I need a broadband Internet connection?
No.  We support dial-up connections but we do not recommend them. The faster your Internet connection, the better.  

Will I have to work with a customer service representative to access our files and make changes?
No. The system is completely self-administered. You can set up logins for each MT, editor or medical office. Adding or changing MT's is free.

Is the software hard to use?
No. It takes about 20 minutes to learn the fundamentals. The software has intuitive menus that are easy to navigate.

My office runs a little differently from most. Can I incorporate these steps into the software?
Yes. While our system is based on the most common business rules, we can customize the software based on your needs.

Do you provide embedded word processing and version control?
Yes to both. Access documents at any point to make edits. Every version of every document is saved.

Can you set up automatic job deliveries to MT's and editors?
Yes. You can set up the job queue to deliver jobs and reroute them when necessary.

Is your software HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Including detailed audit tracking.

Does your software integrate with EMR's?
Yes. We can even do custom programming as needed.

Is your software HL7 compatible?
Yes.

Is the data backed up and secure?
Yes. We have server redundancy and automatic data backups located in secure, controlled environments.

Can I search through the data?
Yes. Search by a number of fields including filename, physician, patient name, DOS, job number and keyword. Every word in the report is indexed for fast keyword and phrase data mining.
